The 2014 edition of the Bass Pro Shops Tournament of Champions marks the 20th Anniversary of the first local team to win the tournament. Springfield(MO) Glendale knocked off eventual Mississippi Class 5A state champion Natchez 78-49, St. Charles West (the number one ranked squad in Missouri Class 4A) 72-50, and Christ the King from Middle Village, New York 55-53 to capture Springfield's first T Of C crown. Springfield(MO) Kickapoo won the tournament in 2005. Springfield(MO) Parkview was the first local team to make the title game in 1992. In all, five local teams have advanced to the championship contest; Parkview in 1992, Glendale in 1994, Glendale in 1999, Logan-Rogersville in 2004, and Kickapoo in 2005.
